Global coordinated Deep Time Walks planned for COP26

Largest ever convergence of community led Deep Time Walks across the world planned for Saturday November 6th, the day of mass mobilisation for COP26. These walks will help provide a deep time context to encourage positive action and collective advocacy for the climate and ecological emergency.

We are planning the largest ever convergence of community led Deep Time Walks across the world on Saturday November 6th 2021. This is to coincide with the day of mass mobilisation in the middle of the COP26 talks in Glasgow, helping to provide a deep time context to encourage positive action and collective advocacy for the climate and ecological emergency. This initiative follows the contributions for the Climate Strike in 2019 where the Deep Time Walk community arranged guided walks in over 16 different countries. Please save November 6th in your diaries!

We would encourage you to step forward and lead a walk in your community/school on this day, even if you’ve never done that before!

To help you in this endeavour, please join us for a training session on Wednesday 13th October 2021, which will include an introduction to Deep Ecology, a session on leading a Deep Time Walk and also an introductory session on holding the space for participant reflection and conversations. We will be running two donation-based sessions, 9.30am-13.00pm UK time (10.30am-14.00pm CET) and 16.30-20.00pm UK (17.30am-21.00pm CET) time to accommodate different time zones across the world.

At this training, we will also make available a new comprehensive guide to leading a Deep Time Walk – to be released under a Creative Commons license – which will include everything you need to lead a Deep Time Walk in your community or school.

To register for the training, please visit our Eventbrite page.
